We Will Be Fine in 2009
Everyday the newspaper seems to bring more bad economic news and dire predictions for our financial future. Certainly, we must all be aware and prepared for cut backs, lay offs, budget decreases and hard financial times; and be willing to work harder in 2009. But, we need to also strive to keep our eyes focused on the one certainty that supersedes all the financial news.
God is still God, and He is still in control of His Mission—and our lives.
Because of this, I am confident in making some predictions of my own:
WMU will continue to engage believers to be radically involved in the mission of God.
The WMU Foundation will continue to receive generous and sacrificial gifts from thousands of our dedicated partners across the country.
God will teach us how to do more with less; and to thrive while doing so.
At the conclusion of 2009, we will look back and be amazed at what He has done and how HE did it!
Because we believe God is who He says He is; and we are the sheep of His pasture; I can say with absolute confidence that despite the economic turmoil, despite the drops in the market and despite the predictions of doom and gloom—
We will be fine in 2009!
