Questionnaire
Please answer
the following questions.
1. Does your organization
have a pool of funds for long-term uses or endowment
that needs professional investment services?
2. Are these funds in excess
of $10,000?
3. Do you intend to invest
these funds for a period of at least three years?
(Note, you are not required to leave the funds
at the Foundation for that period. However, you
are more likely to experience losses in value
if you move in and out of permanent investments
over short periods of time.)
4. Are you looking for professional
investment management, and regular reporting of
investment performance?
5. Do you have special sub-accounting
needs for your funds, that is, the need to segregate
funds for specific purposes and projects?
6. Is your board willing
to select an investment goal for your funds (or
separate goal for each sub-account) and delegate
management of those funds to meet that goal to
the WMU Foundation?
7. Is your board willing
to pay the costs of management of these funds,
now set at approximately 1% of the fund value?
8. Is your board willing
to adopt a resolution to transfer management of
the funds to the Foundation and to enter into
a management contract that specifies the duties
and responsibilities of each party to the agreement?
9. Are you willing to work
with the WMU Foundation to set up these accounts
and direct reporting to the appropriate individuals?
10. Are you willing to designate
a contact person to work with the Foundation to
facilitate set-up, additions, distributions and
withdrawals from the funds?
If you answered "yes"
to all of these questions, the Foundation's investment
management services may be appropriate for your
organization. Please contact the President of
the Foundation at 1-877-482-4483 or email wmufoundation@wmu.org
for more information on how to get started.
