"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging" (Psalm 46:1-3 NIV).

International Initiatives

"By establishing long-term partnerships with believers in other countries, International Initiatives seeks to strengthen the work already being accomplished by our partners, as well as provide new opportunities for volunteers to address issues impacting women and children globally.

"During 2004, the International Initiatives Fund will support projects like Project: Most. Your gift can help a Croatian farmer buy goats or sheep, learn to breed them, and give him the ability to earn an income for his family." Jean Cullen, WMU International Initiatives representative

How Can I Help?
You can get involved in International Initiatives by praying, giving, and going. The International Initiatives Fund provides financial support for this vital ministry. During 2004, the first $5,000 raised in the International Initiatives Fund is committed to Project: Most. Any additional funds raised will be used for similar projects. Each year a portion of the funds raised is set aside for future needs.

You can give online to the International Initiatives Fund, or send your contribution to the WMU Foundation.

Contact International Initiatives representative Jean Cullen for details on International Initiatives missions trips. Visit the International Initiatives Web site for more details on the ministry.

How Can Churches Be Involved?
WMU International Initiatives offers three options for church and group involvement in international missions work.
Option 1-A prepackaged missions trip organized by WMU. Churches not already involved in missions can participate in one trip that fits into an existing WMU partnership.
Option 2-An assisted missions experience for churches seeking a longer-term relationship with international ministry without taking on a full partnership. Churches can assume as much of the partnership as they desire.
Option 3-A full missions linkage with an international contact for churches with the resources, staff, and experience to maintain a partnership. WMU will match church strengths with international needs and provide consultation.

Contact International Initiatives representative Jean Cullen for more information.
