"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging" (Psalm 46:1-3 NIV).

WMU HEART FUND
Humanitarian Emergency Aid (for) Rebuilding Tomorrow

Our nation's history is replete with specific events that brought us to our knees. September 11, 2001, Hurricane Katrina, wildfires, earthquakes, terror—each of these events and issues have seared themselves into the minds of Americans. These events—and many others like them—remind believers once again that we are ultimately not the ones in control. At the same time, we must take initiative to bring hope and healing following the wake of such disasters. We, as the Church, must respond. WMU affirmed the importance of obedient response when it established the HEART (Humanitarian Emergency Aid for Rebuilding Tomorrow) Fund.

The HEART Fund provides a way for believers like you to respond to issues of national—even international—disaster. Aptly named the HEART Fund, it is truly in the heart where our response to tragedy begins. It is in the womb of the heart where we empathize with the hurting; we long to reach out to the homeless; and we desire to bring peace to those in disorder. It is in the heart where our compassion is most nascent. When we respond to this heart's prompting, we are responding with the very heart of Christ.

The WMU Foundation helps you respond through the HEART Fund. The HEART Fund was born out of a desire to help victims of September 11, 2001. Since its inception, the WMU Foundation has awarded HEART Fund grants to aid rebuilding efforts in Indonesia, following the 2004 tsunami; to Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi, following the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita; and many others. Each grant works to provide physical, spiritual, and emotional renewal to ravaged lands and devastated hearts. You can call 1-877-482-4483 for a complete listing of HEART Fund grants since 2001.

Through the HEART Fund, the WMU Foundation facilitates your heart's response to tragedies like these listed above. To respond financially to relief efforts across the world, send your gift to:
